Report N1 (added on March, 7, 2014)

This a travel scam, usual get in touch through a dating site with email address, saying she likes your profile. After a lot of photos of her with family and friends, professes love for you after a week of emails. A phone call is made and a photo with your name on a piece of paper is sent. She wants to come to your country, but suddenly has money problems obtaining visa etc. She says she lives in Russia but I.P address is in California, USA.

Report N2 (added on April, 3, 2014)

I initiated contact with this person and she seemed eager to begin correspondence. She tells a sad life story with relationships and her father dying in the line of duty as a policeman. The emails were sometimes tediously repetitive, but mainly personalised. After several letters, she expressed a personal attraction towards me and strong feelings a few letters later. No emails on weekends, explaining that she uses her work computer. As usual for fraudsters, she planned to visit me soon after beginning the correspondence. On 24th March around 5am my time, she phoned me and we had a one minute talk about her trip. A couple of emails later, she claimed to not afford the visa. Strangely, she wanted me to visit instead. When I asked her some important questions and to call me again, she disappeared. I see that since she promised early in the correspondence that she'll never ask for money from strangers, she's probably targeting people like a professional scammer.
