Hi Nick,

One thing that puzzles me, how can you get back to a source when a mail comes through Yahoo. This women claims to be using a net cafe in some place called Kemerovo ? but from what I can tell, the mail could of originated from anywhere, what do you think ?

first of all your post has the following:

X-Mailer: The Bat! (v3.0.1.33) Professional

next one is if use yahoo or msn forget it. is she "this cheap"

there are what is called pop3 providers and there are free providers.

if the person is after a free provider then she has not enough money to buy a coke

to be or not to be. that is the question.

Nick,

I agree, the bat mailer is a dead give away. I have also seen the pictures supposed to belong to the mailer. No way, they are of some good looking broad on what could be a holiday in the Carribbean. I would not lol, thought that the mailer could come up with Siberia as their home, unless they are having a laugh.

Maybe, hmmm, they are in the States, that's happened before.

Cheers

Hi!
I am sure this person is a scam because I have never recieved an answer to any questions I have replied with to here. This person Tatyana Gelash I have been emailing back and forth for about 3 weeks or so. The interesting part is that this person has asked for money now for a visa. I was waiting for that and like you have no way to prove any part of this persons story.

It has taken me up till now to find other references to this persons name on the web. So thank you for posting. Maybe we sould try to scam the scammer. As to where the scammer is I think the USA but as you already know it is mostly impossible unless yahoo helps to find the persons real identity. My thought is that if a group effort was tried then maybe this person could be caught! My thinking is that this person goes under several names and does this kind of thing for a living on some level!
So if you have any ideas let me know!

The header "Received" line closest to the bottom of the note usually gives some clue to the original sender. In this one, there's a hint this might have something to do with it: cynthstphns@66.36.231.232
sounds like it might belong to someone named "Cynthia Stephens".

That IP is in Washington, DC, HopOne Internet Company. However, this might be a hijacked machine. So, back to your original point, in this case, the note could be from just about anywhere.
