your right, most likely it wouldn't originate in U.S. because you can file a complaint and the Government will help you if there is fraud involved, but don't be 100% sure. There are a lot of stupid people here too. Internet fraud is huge here, the FBI and every decent sized law enforcement agency in the country have ENTIRE departments, sections, and task forces just dedicated to online scams and fraud. They make thousands of arrests every week right here at home.

Russia, even though might be a disorganized dump, they still have some structure and are working on it. A lot of these organized scam rings or scammers originate all over the world, small third world countries. Especially Gibraltor. You can make an email look like it is coming out of timbuctu if you really want to. I would be interested to see where all money sent through western union to so called Russian brides was actually picked up. If you are a sender you can easily call western union and ask them where it was picked up.

Yeah, I see what you are driving at. Over the past 5 years Russian women scams have grown 1000 fold. There have been a few instances uncovered where the scam originated in non FSU countries. Several in Nigeria. And also a few right here in the USA. But the majority of them really are Russian women/men scamming the west.
The Russian and Ukrainian governments turn a blind eye and refuse to become involved. The reason is simple. Cash flow. Probably nothing significant enough to effect their GDP, but alot of western cash does flow into the FSU.
The internet scam (send me money for this and that) is only part of the story. You would be surprised at the amount of scam that occurs after a western guy has become involved in a relationship and made personal visits.
Anyone considering such a relationship with a Russian woman will need to be able to sort the BS from reality. Problem is that 99% fall into the BS category.

A man's mind, streched by a new idea, will never re-gain it's original dimension.
