Letter(s) to Cris (France)

Letter 1

My dear Chris,

It is so nice to hear from you. Thank you for your letter. I hope it can be a good beginning for our lasting relationship.
I think that you've seen my profile but nevertheless I would like to say about myself in a few word.
My name is Irina. I live in a very young country Ukraine (It is the 12th anniversary of Ukrainian independence this year). I am 34 years old. I live alone. I work in a economist. My free time I like to spend reading books, magazines; watching movies or just walking along the streets or in the parks and squares. I enjoy the Nature and try to go at least one a week out of the town's bustle and fuss. I rest from the town being among trees and flowers.
As most of the women I would like to have a loving man nearby. One who understand me, who care of me. I would give my tender and warmness to him. With such a man I would like to create our family. And what is more we need from our life?
I want to know about you and your interests. And I have a lot of questions: Do you go in for sports? What music do you like to listen? Do you like dancing? What writers do you consider as your favorite? What meals do you prefer?.. and so on. I would like to know everything.
I'll close for now. I am looking forward to hear from you soon. I attach my photo to the letter.
Kiss you,
your Irina.

Letter 2

Dear Cris!

Thank you very much for your warm beautiful letter. Your letter is full of emotions. I think our relations will be continued. I would like to get to know you better: about your life, what you like or dislike. Tell me more about your interests, your country. What is your view on relations between a man and a woman? What do you appreciate most in people? Do you like children and how do you think they should be brought up? What is an ideal family in your imagination?
My measurements you can find in my profile. I live in Lugansk. It is my native town. I'll write you more about my town if you wish in my next letter.
You see, Internet here is still not widely open for every one.
All types of communications have been always a problem here.
Although we have many highly educated people who making researches for modern means of connection. But Western companies usually purchase all their inventions and only then they return to our country. Sometimes even people themselves leave our country in search for better standards of life. We have here a lot of Internet clubs, where every person can use a computer paying for time of his work on it. Since a computer is still expansive for most of our people it is a solution of the problem in a way.
The agency "Evrika" is like one of those clubs but they do double work translating the correspondence for their clients.
I have many interests and hobbies. I like to read classic literature and detectives. My favorite writer is Leo Tolstoy who wrote "War and Peace". I like to listen to the music, watch movies, go to the theatre. I engage in sports activities such as running, bicycling, swimming. I like to dance. I like picnics outside the town where I enjoy the nature. I am fond of animals, dogs in particular. I enjoy meeting my friends and spending my free time with them.
As for me I like your letters very much. It is so wonderful to know that there is someone who cares about me. Oh, I am not along in this world! Dear Cris, I am very interesting in you and I hope you are interesting in me too:) I would like to see you face to face if it is possible. I hope it'll happen someday in the future.
I attach my photo to the letter. I would like to see your photo as well:)

Kiss you,
your Irina.

Letter 3

Dear Chris!
Each time I look for your letter and the chance to learn more of your character and personality. I find great joy in reading your letters and always gain insight as to your intelligence, your kindheartedness, kindness and gentleness.

I am also romantic in my heart. I like to go to the theatre or concerts. Sport training helps me to be in a good physical shape. the same with dancing to modern pop-music that I like to listen to. I like reading books and magazines. I intend to be looked fashionable and stylish according to the vogue. I think it is quite natural for a woman as well as the dream to have a happy family. I also like the nature, it is great to get out from the town and have a picnic! I am fond of animals.
You know when we lived in the USSR we could foresee our future in some way because everything was planned by the Party. Then suddenly life put all in its order. The USSR fell down and we had to meet new demands of time. Now I'm constantly have to struggle for surviving. Sometimes I even miss the time when I could not to think much about future. I realized that only love and friendship are the only things that have a real value in every-day-changing world. I think you have the same point of view.
I am glad to hear that you have two children. I like children very much. They make our life complete. They are flowers of our life. I promised you to write about my town. As you know I live in Ukraine, the former soviet republic of the USSR in its past. 800 kilometers to the East of its capital, Kiev, there is Lugansk that is the town where I live. It is not a big town but I like it. There are many parks where I like to walk especially in summer when trees are green and flowers bloom. My town has more than 200 years of its history. The most intensive development of Lugansk falls to the period of the Soviet Union when many plants and factories were built. A great many historical buildings and monuments remind everybody about those times. I like to stroll along the streets that witnessed much. Usually I go in a cafe to have a cup of tea and talk with my friends. There are several theatres, cinemas, clubs and museums in Lugansk. Everyone can find the way to spend money and his free time. Lugansk is being reconstructed now. It is pleasant to see that my town becomes more and more beautiful every day.
Dear Chris, as you know I am not strong enough in English so I have to use the translating service. I have to pay for each letter so don't mind if I'll be not quick with my answers.
I'll close it for now. Write me more about you, the place you live, your plans and so on. I wait with impatience for your answer! Can you send me your photo:).
Kiss you,
your Irina.

Letter 4

Dear Chris!
I was really surprised to hear your voice and the background music was very sweet and relaxing.

My birthday is on the 10 of September. Why do you ask me about my sizes?

I think that love must be the background of marriage. If two individuals love each other and want to create a happy family, they have to strive to mutual respect, appreciation and understanding. Trust must be dominant feature in the family relations. Both spouses have common goals and intentions, they have to help each other in their realization or be ready to console the loved man in his failure or grief. I think that one has to be patient to another point of view even though it is quite opposite to his. One's intention to further personal growth has not to harm the feelings of the loved man. Dear Chris, I am not strong enough in English so I have to use the translating service. I have to pay for each letter so don't mind if I'll be not quick with my answers. I'll close it for now. Write me more about you, the place you live, your plans and so on. I wait with impatience for your answer!
Kiss you,
your Irina.

We live in Donbass area. Lugansk administrative region is a part of it. Our region is well-known for its coal mines. But they are very deep here and dangerous for miners (accidents are very often). The government have closed many mines and people are unemployed now. That's why the salaries are very low here. "If you don't like to work you may go away" the employers say.
"There are lot of people who are eager to take your place". Many people go abroad in searches for a job even illegally. This is our life here. I heard that Western firms sometimes give the work for our factories and plants in order to pay less for the manual labor than they usually pay in their countries.
And our salaries is very low here (nearly 50-70$). We have a high percentage of unemployment. We had many coal-mines here which is in the process of closing that caused the problem of unemployment. But we should never lose hope for better life. That's why I tried the Internet, you see. And I found you.
Dear Chris, I am not strong enough in English and I have to use the service of "Evrika" agency for translation of our letters. They also help in translating phone conversations. What do you think about it? I am afraid I can't afford their services for long. It is too expansive for me.
Well, I have to go for now. I am waiting for your reply! I can see your eyes but I still didn't get your photo:(
With love, your Irina.

Letter 6

Dear Chris!
Thank your you for your letter and your greeting card. And your Suggestion I go see you to French Riviera.
I like to travel very much and to get know new places. I have not been abroad, I mean the former USSR because it is too expansive for our people.
When I studied at school our teachers brought us up in atmosphere of awe. We, little children, believed that our General secretary of the Communist party is the cleverest person in the word. Lenin was like God for us. We all lived in the happiest and strongest country in the world. Our future was bright because we would defeat the Capitalist world (our enemies) and build an ideal world where everybody is happy to work under wise guidance of the Communist Party. Then everything crashed and The USSR fell down. Can you imagine what a shock it was for our people! Everything was a lie! A miracle! I still think that it was the most dreadful time in my life when The USSR crushed. Maybe it was something like Great Depression in the USA. I came to the thinking that the most precious thing in this miracle world is love and friendship. They could be everlasting during our life. So, Chris, I highly appreciate your feelings.
I have no a telephone at home. The agency can also help in translating phone conversations. What do you think about it?
I'll close for now.
With love,
your Irina.
