Report N1 (added on January, 26, 2007)

Has requested money for visas and tickets to USA.

These letters and photos were received starting November 13/06 through January 5th/07 from an Ella Kolesnikova purporting to live in Sanchursk Russia. Starting from around letter 17 She starts to indicate wanting to make arrangements to come to the US. Letter 18 states she's looked into the costs of travel and documentation but doesn't ask for money yet. In letter 21, she responds to my request that she either lets me telephone her or she call me. Someone did call me on the morning of Dec 9th. The woman's english was quite good but the call was abruptly ended. Talked for only two minutes. In letter 24, she gives me a breakdown of costs attributed to travel to US. Letter 25 indicates options for me to send money through Western Union. In letter 27, she responds to my suggestion of coming to visit her. In letter 29, she responds to my letter asking for her address information requested from the Russian Consulate for my visa to come visit her. In letter 30, she gives me her address with a visitor invitation request that I thought would be acceptable for the consulate to grant me a visa.
I did obtain a visa for travel to Russia as well as purchase of airfare departure January 14 through January 21. I sent her an email with a copy of the itinerary. She responds to this in letter 32. In letter 40, she responds to the realization that I will not remain in Russia after my visit with her. In letter 41, she is back to the travel agency, completing the original arrangements to come back with me from Russia. At this point I became quite suspicious that she would want to try to get a visa to come back with me without meeting me first. I hired an agency to varify her address in Sanchursk and I received a telegram indicating there was no such address. In letter 44, she responds to me telling her that the Russian consulate has indicated to me that her address is invalid. In letter 45, she responds to my email with attachment of telegram indicating the address she gave me is invalid. In letter 46, after I received information from the background check agency and sent her a copy of it. Haven't heard from her since.
