Columbia another hotspot for scammers?

I'm noticing more and more women from Columbia and quite a few seem suspicious. Is Columbia also a known hotspot for scammers? Based on the little I know about the country I suspect it could very well be for the same reasons some other impoverished regions are.

What can I say is that Columbia is another American Latin country affected by poverty, drug consumption, sometimes civil fights and it`s possible to see scammers trying to get some money
