Customs Supervision Fee
I've been communication with a "Student" in lugansk.... she has sent me photos of her holding photos of me.... she has sent scans of her passport and visa (embassy is currently verifying)
Now she says she needs $1680 for "customs supervision" to leave the Ukraine..... is this a scam?

I never lost money to any scammer....had more brains than that.
Unlike some here who clearly would be better not even trying to look overseas for a partner.
As to paying some so called 'Detective' in Ukraine or elsewhere why waste your money and time?. They are a dime a dozen and there's little way of vetting what they claim.

elenag, I've heard that the areas you refer to are scammer central and that Alina agency is in Yoshkar-Ola. That's why I say they worked out for me, but I don't personally promise anything. Like I say, it's a crap shoot... ultimately, each person has to make his or her own choices and live with the consequences. I've been a little cautious and a little lucky so far, but your advise is alway more than welcome!!!

Ok, as long as you are aware of the risk.

Yes, most certainly. Same thing happened to me. The British Embassy said that no such customs requirements exist. In fact I was told that she had to have ?1,000 on her person to leave the country. When I didn't send by the deadline she set, she disappeared

Hi Wally and others. nobody from Ukraine or Russia can get a visa to USA or Europe without showing a picture of the 2 of you togther. So if you have never met and have a picture taken then any talk about visa, tickets or other is SCAM.
Only other way to get a visa is by an impresario who can arrange visa to any country if the girl work as a prostitue.

Cit Gordon:
"Only other way to get a visa is by an impresario who can arrange visa to any country if the girl work as a prostitue".
Please clarify. Not because I want to drool over the juicy parts, but because this seems a bit irregular. Prostitution isn't exactly high on the official lists of "preferable professionals", like management specialists, theoretical physicists or brain surgeons, who possibly could meet a lenient treatment in the visa process.

From what I understand, it becomes a business trip and thus the availabilty of the visa.
And you're right to some extent Gordon. What you're referring to is for a K1 visa. It's proof to the US government that you and this girl have more going than just a few e-mails having been exchanged. Google US visas and click on the site for the State Dept. Loads of info that every guy in the US should know about visa requirements for FSU/MOBs.
