Report N1 (added on September, 28, 2005)
I was contacted by Irina via match, an online dating site. I
replied out of curiosity, and began writing back and forth. After several letters she expressed feelings of love and wanted to come to the US so we could marry. I had heard of possible scams, so rather than send her money when she requested, I offered to travel to her, so as to meet her parents, and help with the travel arrangements. I haven't heard from her since I sent the last letter. Go figure. Hopefully this keeps someone else from being burned.
Report N2 (added on March, 7, 2006)
Irina contacted me late October 05, via the Match site.
We exchanged e-mails on a daily basis for the next couple of weeks.
I think she was writing her own e-mails, not using a template, as she seemed to answer all of my questions.
However, after a couple of e-mails, she said she was coming to the uK on a training exchange from work in December and that we would be able to meet.
At the same time, she mysteriously fell in love!!!!
About a week later, the "tragic" news that the trip had been cancelled, so she could not afford the necessary visa etc., so could I foward half of the money (450 euro)
She even telephoned, and was quite insistant that I send the money. When I refused, the correspondance stopped.
Report N3 (added on December, 8, 2006)
This lady contacted me out of the blue, claiming to have seen profile on match. She claims to have job, with $500 a month income and wants to come to usa on tourist visa to meet me. At first she claims to have all money necessary for the trip, then after claiming to go to Moscow to apply for visa, and renew pasport, which she claims to have traveled to europe, she needs $1436 for plane tickets which she must have to prove return trip to Russia. That threw up a flag and I searched google and found your site. after scanning 176 pages of your site low and behold there was the first picture she sent. I am so fortunate I checked your site, it saved me alot of money. I just hope the information I have will help others.
