REPORT N1 (added on September, 20, 2021)
Jeff (Netherlands)

On the OKCupid dating site, I met a woman calling herself Theresa Westrom. Almost immediately she wanted to leave the site and write by email. We corresponded for about 3 weeks and she sent 10 letters and 2 photos (although the woman in the photos did not look alike, which was the first warning sign).
Her letters were not literate, and although she answered some questions, she was evasive about what she did for a living and other personal matters. She claimed to have lost her father 2 years ago and had a mother and kid brother in South Africa who she visited at least once a year. Although she thought it would be a good idea to talk by phone or meet in person, she never gave me her phone number and by the fifth letter claimed she had to leave the country "urgently" as her mother was sick.
As soon as her flight arrived in South Africa, she claimed her mom had been diagnosed with lung cancer and was being treated by radiation. By her 8th letter she was asking for money (1200 GBP) as a loan to be sent by Western Union or MoneyGram money transfer. When I asked for her bank account information, she claimed not to have a bank account there and that an international bank transfer would take too long for her to get (5-6 business days). Then she used the old scammer trick of promising to repay the loan as soon as she got back ("My words are my honor and like i said it's a loan and i will pay back as soon as i get back home"), which I was confident really meant she would disappear and I would never hear from her again. I never sent any money and her letters stopped, which is not surprising.

Yes i have a kid brother, he stays with mom in SA.. Wow, you are the only child? you most be very lonely, anyway so sorry about that. Well am also a very affectionate person, I am looking for someone special to share my life with. I think there are a lot of wonderful things to experience in this life, and would like to have someone to share those precious moments with. all i am looking for in a man is honest, sincere, care. I have been in a long term relationship before, which was not really a good end, he was a cheat and all...

For me, to create a close, loving relationship we need to pay attention to trust and respect, faithfulness is truly important to any relationship but trust and respect are the catalyst which make our relationships more meaningful. Without them we can only expect a shallow relationship that may not have what it takes to last a lifetime. For the fact that we are strangers for now, but knowing that all relationship start as strangers to friendship and family in a moment of trust and sincerity. Its just I matter of having the right mind set and hope for nothing but the best.
