Nadezhda did well, she didn't ask for money for quite a while, almost 6 weeks. But I had started to notice that she wasn't responding to the topics raised in my letters, and her sentences started coming out without spaces between the words. I got suspicious, and then she asked for $200 to cover the cost of a visa. The airfare would have to be around $1600, and she could apparently afford that but not the visa. I had to travel suddenly on a family emergency and explained this to her. But her next letter just asked for money again. She hadn't even read a word I had written.
I have to give her credit though, she is very clear on how I (or anyone else) can send her money.
She didn't get any. She is clever, though.
